So far there are 3 installments of unique stories regarding songs: “It’s Safe To Be You”, Chapter 2 _ “That’s The Way” and Chapter 3 _ “The Bluesman“. Chapters are loaded with photos highlighting each story, how the song came about and developed to be what it is today on albums by Shane O’Brien and O’Briens Edge. Some Chapters you may find two recorded versions in the Chapters display of that particular song. 1 version of the song as it was originally being written/recorded and the 2nd rendition may be Shane playing it for that Chapter featured as it's highlight. There may be many folks who read and see this new feature and say to themselves “Hey I took that picture” or “I recorded that track with him” or “I was at that gig“. To those particular friends I say “Don't fret, I don't forget"

Story behind the song
Moved On By ©2006 Danny Timms and Shane O’Brien [p]2012 Jungle Music Productions A Bluesy and Emotion Ballad dedicated to a dear friend of mine who at the time was living through an emotional period full of reflections that encompassed a whole lifetime of memories. This gentleman, as I mentioned a very dear friend and mentor to me, had arrived at my studio at the end of a 3rd day of playing piano for his Mom who was on her final days with us on earth. Usually the mood in my studio is boisterous and excitingly celebratory with creative spirit and music galore. On the days of his visit to me at my studio, he simply popped in the door and asked me to turn on the recording gear right away because he wanted me to remember the thoughts he had at that moment and I was to use... Lyrics
Moved on © 2006 By Danny Timms, Shane O’Brien Hey Danny man, we gotta a real… Hum, Hum, Hum, Hum Maybe I wasn’t everything that you’d hoped I’d been You gave me everything arms open wide There were plenty of times when I know we disagreed And you’re always there with me inside But then you moved on It don’t hurt me no more You left your keys and passed right through the doorway Yeah you moved on It cut me right through the bone You know I really hated to see you go I don’t need anything to remind me of you All I gotta do is look in my mirror I used to question all the things that you do Lately everything’s getting clear, real clearer But then you moved on It don’t hurt me no more You left your keys and passed right through the doorway Yeah you moved on It cut me right through the bone I really hated to see you go Being home for the holidays, and it’s getting real kind a strange This years passed by at a real, real frightening pace It don’t seem like Christmas, ‘cause I can’t, I can’t see your face You moved on ya It don’t hurt me no more You left your keys and passed right out my doorway Yeah you moved on It cut me right through the bone I really hated baby, hated to see you go I really, I really hated to see you go You know I really hated “to see you go” Moved On from the CD Unreleased/Unpublished Part E ©2006 by Shane O’Brien and O’Briens Edge [p] 2012 Jungle Music Productions

Early Days of Shane
Nov 20, 2012
This beautiful song written by my dear friend Danny Timms was put into my hands by Danny himself. It was an important time for Danny and I treated this fact as such. Shane, please record this song I wrote and just do your Shane thing to it and please put it on the front burner OK? This request by my friend and master musician I did take very seriously and proceeded to work on this piece right after Danny shut the front door of my humble studio behind him as he left. I made some calls to local musicians I respected and whom I knew could handle the ideas I immediately had in mind. I figured that Bass, Piano, Strings, Harmonica and Vocals would be a great format to get the message across. No guitar on this one because in my minds eye, I thought the message would get muddied up. As it turned out, I felt the piece came out right, being that important vocal delivery of a real life story of love is at the very for front. Most importantly to me though, is when Danny came by the studio
